Meet Ruchi Gupta, our Project Controls Manager who is part of our Commercial team.
Ruchi has always had a passion for science, engineering, and numbers.
As a child, Ruchi enjoyed tallying up the stock dividend cheques her father received and learning all about the stock market. This coupled with her keen interest in software and systems led her to become a Software Engineering.
After graduating with a degree in Computer Science and gaining an MBA, Ruchi has evolved her career in project controls working with leading engineering firms. She has also continued to develop her skills with additional certifications in Six Sigma and Prince2.
Since joining us in May 2023, Ruchi has brought her love of systems and software to BG&E Resources to facilitate efficient project management practices.
When reflecting on the impact of her work on our clients’ projects, Ruchi explains “It’s important to look at a project’s risk profile from an ESG perspective and put mitigation plans in place to address them. From an estimation and cost controls perspective, ESG compliance expenses and resourcing matters need to be identified and incorporated into the project from the get-go.”
After a few short months with us, Ruchi says that being able to make a difference is why she loves coming to work every day. “Put simply, BG&E Resources embraces your ideas and lets you take ownership of them. That’s the best thing about working for the company.”
Focusing on project controls, Ruchi explains how she can provide value to our clients, “by measuring baseline metrics and then undertaking continuous improvements and benchmarking, as you can’t improve something that you can’t measure.”
If she were to give professional advice to her younger self, Ruchi says “I would tell myself to find more opportunities to network with people and connect with mentors early on.”
Outside of work, Ruchi loves watching medieval fantasy TV shows and is currently bingeing the newest season of The Witcher. In her spare time, you’ll find her going for evening walks and travelling with her family. If she had to pick a favourite holiday destination, Ruchi picks Austria and Switzerland, “because of the scenic views and laidback lifestyle.”
