Meet Terryn Berardone, a Contract Specialist at BG&E Resources (BGER) who has an eagerness for learning and a passion for commercial law.
Terryn graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University and was admitted into the Supreme Court of Queensland in early 2018.
She gained previous experience by working in a national real estate firm, specialising in sales and project marketing for local and international developers, as well as working in a leading boutique law firm, where she gained experience and practiced in property, commercial and migration law.
Terryn joined BGER in May 2023, and brings her legal acumen to our commercial team. When asked about choosing a career in commercial law, Terryn mentioned the driving force behind the decision was her problem-solving skills. She says, “I have a strong desire to play a role in identifying, managing and mitigating risks to help safeguard the long-term sustainability and success of a business.”
She adds, “Through effective legal protections and strategies, we can provide proactive guidance to internal and external stakeholders about contractual matters to ensure ethical operations are undertaken.”
As she reflects on her first anniversary at BGER, Terryn chooses her involvement in major projects as the highlight of her experience to date. She says, “Providing guidance to the team for the Geraldton Port Maximisation Project has been an exciting opportunity and I’ve gained invaluable experience.”
She adds, “Working within a growing company that aligns with my values, both personally and professionally, and having the opportunity to work with great people, makes it a joy to come to work every day.”
Before her career in commercial law, Terryn was a professional figure skater who participated in the Australian Figure Skating Championships from 2006 to 2008.
Outside of work, Terryn spends her time surrounded by her friends, family and partner, often enjoying a long Sunday lunch. She is a passionate traveller and often returns to her hometown of the Gold Coast. When the opportunity arises for an international trip, her favourite destinations are Japan and Canada (pictured) for the snow season.
