Our team had a delightful evening celebrating with our client, the Mid-West Ports Authority (MWPA) on the successful design effort to date for the Geraldton Port Maximisation Project (PMaxP).
Since being awarded the EPCM contract in 2022, BGER’s multidisciplinary teams have been working closely with the client to deliver the detailed design for the major infrastructure project.
The designs reflect the Port’s vision of maximising the use of the current harbour layout by adding a new dry bulk export berth, extending and upgrading the existing Berth 6 and relocating the tug harbour to a new facility adjacent to the main western breakwater.
Peter Saraceni, Project Manager says, “It was a pleasure to celebrate the success of this project to date with MWPA and the BGER design team. The collaboration from everyone involved has helped create such innovative solutions specific to the Port’s needs.”
He adds, “We’re proud of the components of the design that will now be taken forward into the construction phase and look forward to continuing our great relationship with MWPA through this stage of the project.”
The next stage of the project is now underway, as the community consultation and environmental approvals process has begun for the upgrade works for Berth 1, the new tug facility, and Berth 6.
