Meet Fabiana, a Junior Electrical Designer whose love for the outdoors brought her from Brazil to Perth.
Starting her journey in electrical design in Curitiba, Brazil, she moved to Perth, where she completed an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Drawn by the warm summery months in Boorloo, she says, “My favourite thing about Perth is the sunny weather, which reminds me of my hometown of Curitiba.”
As the weather begins to warm up in Perth, Fabiana is ready to soak up the sun. “You’ll find me either cycling under the trees, spending time at the beach, or exercising! I often cycle around the city to explore new areas, especially along the foreshores to admire the coast.”
Reflecting on her journey, Fabiana shares, “I am incredibly proud of how far I have come and how studying abroad has given me cherished life experiences.”
When asked about advice she’d give to aspiring designers, she says, “Don’t be afraid to ask questions because you can learn something new, uncover problems that might not have been noticed before, and save a lot of time.”
Fabiana has quickly become a valuable member of our Electrical Design team at BGER. She says, “The best thing about working at BGER is the supportive work environment and the recognition of performance.”
She adds, “The consistent support from my manager, Sebastian Vanegas (Senior EIC Designer), has been outstanding. From our frequent 1-on-1 catch-ups to his daily eagerness to help, I continue to develop my skills.”
Looking ahead, Fabiana says, “I hope to build a career in Australia and progress to a Principal or Lead Designer role over time. I would like to mentor new junior designers, just as I have been supported.”
