As Senior Talent & Engagement Specialist, Sarah has been key in finding top talent for our team. Now, she’s stepping into a new role as Business Development Advisor, focusing on helping our clients find the right collaboration opportunities with BG&E Resources (BGER).
A Natural Connector
Sarah’s career began in recruitment and business development, where she quickly discovered her passion for connecting people. “I’ve always loved talking to people and finding solutions to their challenges,” she says.
In her new role as Business Development Advisor, Sarah’s focus is simple: facilitate opportunities for collaboration. She’s often the first point of contact and ensures the right stakeholders are involved from the start. Recently, Sarah helped organise a Tailings Management workshop, a collaboration between BGER and TailCon Projects, which welcomed tailings and geotechnical experts from across the industry.
Sarah’s approach is all about being proactive. “It’s all about timing and making sure the right people are in the room at the right time. That’s where I come in,” she says.
She also emphasizes creating opportunities that benefit everyone involved. “It’s rewarding to connect people and watch those relationships grow. When the right connections happen, everyone benefits,” she says.
Balance Made Possible
What makes Sarah’s journey even more impressive is how she balances it all. On top of preparing for her new role, she is pursuing a Diploma in Business Development while juggling family commitments as a mum.
“I work part-time at BGER, and the flexibility here has been a game-changer. It has allowed me to pursue new opportunities while maintaining a healthy balance between my studies, work, and family life,” Sarah shares.
Outside of work, Sarah is a passionate scuba diver and has spent years exploring Thailand’s underwater world—a reflection of her curiosity that drives her both professionally and personally.
“A fun fact about me is that I lived in Koh Tao, Thailand, for three years after falling in love with the pristine beaches and diverse marine life. I taught scuba diving there and the best part was meeting people from around the world—closely followed by enjoying the most amazing green curry every day!”
